Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Policy
L Catterton is a global private equity firm that operates through its subsidiaries, including L Catterton Europe, Catterton Management Company, LLC, Catterton Latin America Management Co., L Catterton Asia Advisors and L Catterton Real Estate. L Catterton Europe, is a portfolio management company authorized on 21 February 2001 by the French financial market authority ("AMF") under number GP-01009. Catterton Management Company, LLC (and Catterton Latin America Management Co. under the SEC’s umbrella registration rules) is an investment adviser registered with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (“SEC”) under number 801-72426. L Catterton Asia Advisors is an Investment Adviser (Unrestricted) licensed with the Mauritian Financial Services Commission. L Catterton Real Estate is an alternative investment fund manager regulated by the Luxembourg Commission de Surveillance du Secteur Financier.
L Catterton currently has an ESG Policy, available upon request, detailing its approach to the consideration of environmental, social and governance risks and opportunities into its investment process.
L Catterton complies with the requirement to publish information regarding its environmental, social, and governance (ESG) policy. In particular, L Catterton Europe complies with publication requirements regarding its ESG policy pursuant to article L. 533-22-1 and D. 533-16-1 of the French monetary and financial code.
Considering the specificity of the sectors and the size of the portfolio companies in which L Catterton invests (consumer brands of growing middle market companies and emerging high-growth enterprises with emerging maturity in ESG matters), L Catterton has not yet implemented a formalized and systematic approach and methodology regarding ESG criteria, (including, with respect to L Catterton Europe, as contemplated by the French law (Code monétaire et financier – Art L. 533.22.1)).
Meanwhile, L Catterton seeks to collect from its portfolio companies a qualitative and quantitative information in relation to various ESG criteria and encourages its portfolio companies to consider its ESG Policy.
L Catterton Europe is a signatory of the France Invest Charter of commitments for investors in growth. L Catterton is a signatory of the Principles for Responsible Investment, an investor initiative formed in partnership with the UNEP Finance Initiative and UN Global Compact.
